Christie Front Drive
Denver, Colorado · 1993–1997 / reunions
Christie Front Drive worked through restraint. Their songs often feel architectural: clean guitars establish a shape, the rhythm section gives it weight, and the emotion arrives through proportion rather than spectacle.
Denver sits outside a literal Midwestern map, but the band belongs in the conversation. The genre was always a network of overlapping scenes rather than one zip code. Listening closely is more useful than policing a boundary.
Start here for detail and patience. The songs reward the second pass because they rarely announce everything they know.
